Why I won’t stop taking pictures.

My daughter asked me this week- “Why do you take so many photos all the time?”

Because art and beauty is worth committing your life to it.

Art is worth the HOURS, years, decades to learn the craft and practice it DAILY.

They say 20,000 hours is minimum for becoming an “expert” - that’s 6 years at least of dedication.

Art is healing.

After the years- I’ve met so many people that have told me that photography/art is their therapy- their connection to beauty- their self care etc.

Photos to me are preserving my legacy-

We are making core memories that 20 years from now you will see all your life completely documented when I’m done.

Because I love it- I enjoy it and if I get money from it from others that enjoy my art- that’s a bonus.

I create art for my own healing- my own joy- my own connection.

I’m able to process the highs and lows of motherhood, homeschooling and losses by having a positive creative outlet that inspires others- I am fulfilled.

I am a child wrangler, a girl boss, a media creator, a business mentor,  a professional domestic engineer, Captain of the Hot Mess Express and most importantly- an imperfect but constantly progressing disciple of Christ.

We coach, teach, shoot, set up events and build reclaimed decor and adventure mobiles out of our home studio in Chesapeake, VA all while raising three amazing but crazy children.
