When Should I Use Photoshop or lightroom to edit?

Are you starting out with Adobe photoshop or Lightroom? Did you buy the monthly photographer starter bundle for 9.99 but don’t know which tool is best for your work? .

.

As a portrait, headshot and wedding photographer 90% of my edits come from the Lightroom classic software program. .

.

I’m basically just using it to color correct, do basic clone brush tools for blemish and teeth whitening and basic crop functions. .

.

When I want to use Photoshop, I’m going to be using it for brochure creation, adding overlays, sunflairs, advanced editing tools like face swaps or extending the background in my studio digitally. .

.

So it really just depends on the kind of work you do and what your vision is. .

.

Learning both is essential to any photographer’s educational journey. But if you’re just starting out and don’t know where to begin, then doing a Lightroom might be a good place to get your feet wet.

.

The toggles are very simple and easy to use and the menu options are pretty straightforward. .

.

Photoshop takes a little bit of a learning curve and it’s a much harder to batch edit for weddings and media quickly and easily. .
